Will I Need To Come Weekly?
In order for the counselling to work at its optimum, experience has shown me that weekly sessions are more effective than fortnightly or monthly sessions.
Attending Counselling will require a considerable amount of commitment & responsibility on your part, in turn, my commitment & responsibility to you is to set aside a weekly time & space which allows us to engage effectively in this process.
Our sessions will take place weekly at the agreed venue and will start and end at the same time on the same day each week.
I am unable to attend a regular weekly sessions either on the same day or the same time will it still be possible to see you?
Unfortunately I am unable to offer this flexibility, especially with evening appointments.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
We will discuss this during your Assessment.
Will I Feel Better Straight Away?
The benefits of Counselling are not always experienced immediately. There may be times when you feel worse before you feel better and the urge will be to end the sessions, this is normal, counselling is not always a smooth process, if this arises during our work together I would ask you to talk about it in our sessions.
I Feel Really Anxious About Coming To My Session?
It is normal to feel anxious about coming to counselling especially if you have never experienced counselling before. My aim is to make you feel at ease.
I’d Like To Book A Session For A Friend/Family Member, Can I Do This?
In short no, its important that the person who will be attending the appointment contacts me directly, they have to want to engage with the counselling process and feel comfortable with me as their chosen Counsellor. By all means contact me if you would like me to send you some information to forward on to the person in question, I am happy to do this.
I Would Like To Bring Someone With Me To The Sessions, Can I Do This?
Unfortunately no as it can impede the process as you will likely not feel able to speak as freely as you would wish to. I fully appreciate coming along can be nerve wracking especially if this is a new experience for you. I am happy to answer any questions you may have on the Counselling process.
Will Our Sessions Be Confidential?
We will discuss confidentiality during our Assessment. Detailed information on Confidentiality can be found by reading my Confidentiality statement, in turn this will take you to my Individuals and Couples Counselling Contracts and to this Website’s Privacy Policy.
